Just last week we showed you an awesome new jailbreak tweak dubbed Unlockize that brought more unlocking animations to iOS. This week, we are bombarded with even more unlock animation options to choose from with a new jailbreak tweak dubbed PaperLock by iOS developer Apocolipse. Some of the graphics have been created by graphic designer, Surenix. PaperLock brings a few new paper-like animations that Unlockize doesn't include. Examples of the animations are displayed in the screenshot set above.
PaperLock totals three neat animations. One of the animations mimics that of a piece of paper being turned just like a page inside of a book. Another animation mimics that of a band-aid being peeled away. The last animation mimics a transparent plastic tab being peeled away. All of them are versatile animations where the object you are pulling can continue following your finger even if it’s not dragging in a straight line.
You will notice right off the bat that the Camera Grabber is moved to the left side of the lock screen – this is the default setting, but if you don’t like it that way, there is no need to be alarmed. You can change the side of the lock screen that the Camera Grabber appears on from the preferences pane in the Settings application. From there you can also choose which of the three animations you want to use and you can also enable and disable PaperLock on demand there. The preferences pane is shown below:
If you’re worried about PaperLock not being compatible with some of your lock screen tweaks, you shouldn’t be. Most popular tweaks including IntelliScreenX and Camera Grabber for iOS 5 are supported. It’s important to note that PaperLock doesn’t work on the iPad as it was intended for iPhone and iPod touch devices and requires iOS 5 to install.
All of the animations are fluid without causing any kind of lagging or poor performance and it also holds true that PaperLock doesn’t eat up system resources as it performs. If you want to add some spice to your lock screen to make your iPhone different from your friends’ iPhones, then PaperLock is a great way to get started!
