Intel Reveals Windows 8 Tablet Specifications

A couple of days ago we reported about intel working with 10 different vendors for the mega launch of Intel based Windows 8 tablets which are slated to be released in the later half of 2012.

Now the company has revealed some more detailed specifications for what’s in store as far as the Windows 8 tablets from Intel are concerned. At their Intel Developer Forum at Beijing last week intel revealed some important hardware specifications for their upcoming tablet processors, the Clover Trail platform.
The Processors will be powered by dual cores and will support hyper-threading(allowing dual cores to behave like quad cores in some cases) and”Burst  Mode” features which will enhance the performance of the tablets.Processor will provide a battery life of 9 hours(with 30 days of standby time.Talking about the tablet varieties there will be 2 kinds of tablets,10 ” regular Tablets as well as 11″ Hybrids(Ultrabook+Tablets).
As far as connectivity goes there’s 3G ,4G ,WiFi,NFC etc .The devices should be as thin as 9mm(thinner than the New iPad which is around 9.4mm)and should be a lightweight affair with weight lower than 1.5lbs,again the benchmark set by the New iPad which weighs in at 1.44lbs.
It remains to be seen of the recommended specifications reach their actual goal in the real world with the claims like 9 hours battery life and 30 days of standby time.Intel would try hard to get closer to the above mentioned specifications,no two doubts about it.
