Today at E3 Microsoft announced Xbox Music, the successor to Zune,
and the company’s music product that will be available on the Xbox 360, Windows 8 machines, and of course Windows Phone. The service will feature some 30 million available tracks.
The end of Zune has been long expected, but this is the notice that makes the end of the brand all but official; this is what is next. However, it is possible that some small vestige of Zune will survive, in name only, in the new service. Once we know more, we’ll add it into this post.

Of course, the Metro aesthetic is quite present here, as you surely expected. It appears that Microsoft truly is running a strategy of unification, in a user interface sense, for all its products
